Jay’s workshop was fantastic and provided great practical tips on creating meaningful conversations with students related to building interest and ownership.
Jay is committed, knowledgeable, and a true partner in the mission. He makes an effort to hear and know the people he is presenting to.
Jay was engaging and provided many good points that can be immediately implemented in the work our career coaches do each day. His purpose is clear. He celebrates the work and closes with our action items for going forward.
This will improve my role by allowing me to turn my concerns into questions and not shoot down any students passions with my concerns or directives.
I was motivated to find a way to have students follow up or visit so I covered an entire wall in my office with paper and welcome them to write goals or positive notes on it
I went into the workshop unmotivated as it was the fifth straight day of workshops and training, but within the first twenty minutes, I was happy to be there. I was not expecting to dig deep and find inspiration but I did. We ended the week on a high note.
They get anxious or rowdy. Their attention span is very short and limited. But I have to say, you could have heard a pin drop today. They all seemed to like it and were really into what he was saying.

The energy and charisma of the speaker are fabulous, holding the attention of our middle school audience.
We usually have to move kids because they can't stay focused and they're goofing with their friends. I didn't move anyone.
It was fun, he's engaging which is exactly what middle schoolers need. They need somebody that can keep their attention.
